Not "can it fly?" — "can it operate reliably at scale?"
This simulation connects flight distance, charging time, turnaround, fleet size, alternate sites, weather windows and airspace constraints to answer whether daily operations are viable. It reflects the operational framework described in the ConOps AAM document and aligns with UKRI findings on the sensitivity of vertiport economics to occupancy, turnaround and infrastructure cost.
Simulation Assumptions
Adjust fleet size, turnaround time and weather conditions. Results update immediately. These three variables are the highest-sensitivity drivers of daily capacity and annual revenue, per UKRI socio-economic analysis.
More aircraft = higher daily throughput, but also more stand and charger demand.
Shorter turnaround increases cycles per day but may require higher-spec charging equipment.
Adverse weather adds to the cycle time and reduces reserve margin.
Flight Cycle Analysis
The total cycle time — outbound flight, turnaround, charging and weather buffer — determines how many complete cycles each aircraft can execute per day. Reducing any segment increases daily capacity.
